How To Become a singer/rapper

In our Indian music industry according to me, it is quite difficult to pursue music as a full-time career. So i want to tell you guys that the way is difficult and different from the general paths which are a school then college and then a job. I do not recommend leaving your education and start your career in music from the beginning. We all know that most of the parents including mine are not happy with music as a career. So, it is an individual's responsibility that he/she will have to pursue their education whether its school or college or job and with that start your music journey by working hard day and night. 

Now i want to share some of my experiences about how i started and how you should begin. 

First of all, not many labels are interested in new artist's music as a result, you are on your own from the beginning. Don't get depressed reading this, i am just sharing the truth. I will guide you step-by-step in this journey. 

The steps are as follow:

1. You can form a music band with your friends who are interested in music. 
2. You can learn music production to produce your music and mix master your songs on your own. 
3. You can go to reality shows like Indian Idol, Sa Re Ga Ma, etc.
4. You can go to music studios and have your songs made by professionals. 

For pt. no 1, you need some friends maybe one, two or three and everyone needs to decide their specific work according to their hobbies like someone who likes to sing can be a singer and someone who likes to play guitar can be a guitarist, someone who likes to play drums can be a drummer or someone who likes to make music can be a music producer. So every person has to do their specific work in which they are good or in which they are interested at least. For a band/ musical group to be successful the most important thing is that at least one person should be there who can produce music on Pc/mac or at least have some interest in making electronic music because nowadays you can do anything and play any instrument if you know how to make music.

For pt. no 2, you need to learn music production all by yourself, i know it's a very difficult thing to do as a beginner but trust me if i can do it everyone can. Have faith in yourself, work hard day and night to make it happen, and try more and more. You must be having a question arising in your mind from where you can learn music?. In my opinion, you can start with youtube and google, by reading articles about music production, mixing and mastering and by watching videos about the same or you guys can go to a Music Production School to learn music production and other skills. It's your choice from where you want to learn. Learning by yourself from youtube and google is time-consuming but free and learning from music production school will cost you some money but less time consuming, it is up to you. 

For pt. 3, you need to wait for the auditions of any reality show and register yourself to show your talent.

For pt. 4, you will have to find a good studio that serves their clients with good music as i know many studios are producing not so good music and charge a very high amount. So my recommendation will be to go to that person whose work is good. Don't waste your hard-earned money or your parents' money anywhere. 

 I emphasize learning music by yourself. I know it is difficult, but if you or any of your friends will learn music production then the journey will be easy as you can make your songs and put your music on different platforms like google, youtube, iTunes, etc. I will also write a step by step article in my blog on how you can share your music with the world so that everyone can listen to your music and in the meantime try finding a good studio nearby which produces good quality music and try releasing songs made by professionals so that you can gain an audience.
